We hiked through the clouds. Mt. Kilimanjaro is 19,341 feet tall. It is the largest free standing mountain in the world. It has its own weather system. The clouds are at 8,000 ft in the cool of the evening. As the sun comes out the clouds begin their upward journey to the top. On days three and four we would spend hours hiking through the clouds. Our summit climb began at midnight of day five, so that we could see the sunrise from the top of the mountain.
